The bottle seal sits firmly on top of the bottle, with a spring loaded design that keeps the seal tight against the top of the bottle. The manufacturer claims it is almost 'Indestructible' under normal use, while being acid and rust-resistant. The side clasps of the stopper fit snuggly on the lip of most sparkling wine bottles, helping to keep pressure on the seal while providing a secure closure for the pressurized contents.

I purchased this stopper for my sparkling wines, after many bottles of bubbly kept popping off my lock seal stopper. I went to the store to look at my options to securely close sparkling wine. I went ahead and purchased this particular item on the recommendation of the Bed, Bath & Beyond employee who was passing by while I was comparing 3 similar items. The employee didn't have anything negative to say about the comparison products, but was very enthusiastic about the effectiveness of this particular product, stating that they use it all the time at home.

My conclusion

I have been extremely pleased with this Sparkling Wine Bottle Stopper. With other products I was getting an average of 1 - 3 days before the wine went flat. I now routinely get 4 - 6 days of storage in the refrigerator when using this device, where the wine comes out fresh and still alive with effervescence.
