What temperature should you drink your wine?

Wine Serving Temps

To properly highlight a wine's unique character and flavor profile, it is essential to serve a wine at its ideal serving temperature. Serving a wine too cold will mute it's aromas & flavors, while serving it too warm will cause them to become unbalanced or harsh.

  Suggested Serving Temperature Common Term
The best temperature for Red Wine is 62°F - 68°F Room Temp
The best temperature for White Wine is  49°F - 55°F Cellar Temp
The best temperature for Rosé Wine is  50°F - 60°F
The best temperature for Sparkling Wine is 40°F - 50°F Ice Cold

Warm Up or Cool Down

Wine Chilling BucketNeed a quick cool down? If your wine is too warm, place into a bucket of ice and cold water. This chills the bottle more quickly than ice alone, as more of the bottle is in contact with the cooling source. It usually takes less than 10 minutes for a red, 10-15 minutes for a white, and up to 30 minutes for a Champagne.

When the wine has the opposite problem and is too cold, try pouring it into a pre-warmed decanter or immersing the bottle in a bucket of warm water for a short period. Do not use HOT water; as it will cause the wine to fall apart or the cork to expel itself or the bottle to crack with the sudden temperature change. Tip: if you can't comfortably rest your hand int the bucket for 30 seconds, it is to warm.
